I was with a friend and we were discussing what was “different’. And she summarized it into “I have increase capacity”. That landed for me as it was true. When our schedules, and even more importantly our nervous system, are in overload, we feel we don’t have any capacity for anything else. It’s almost a feeling that if one more thing shows up on my calendar, on my to-do, or if something of any size goes wrong, I will lose my mind. And however that shows up for each individual is different - whether anger, sadness, taking it out on the wrong person, driving erratically, cursing, or gorging into ice cream. No matter the situation, if we allow our ourselves an increase in capacity, we can function, manage, cope, and feel better. The moment to take the long breath. The moment to see things differently, lighter, or just not personally. An increase in capacity changes the game from survival to I’m going to be okay. How does this happen? For starters, creating daily routine or rhythms that work for you. Mine include the PEMF device every morning. It allows for the increase capacity and so my friend does the same.
